How to use this slug generator
Turn any headline into a clean URL-friendly slug. Type a title in Single mode or paste many titles in Bulk mode — every slug updates instantly with no button to press and no signup.
How to use it (single title): type or paste your headline, pick a separator (hyphen or underscore), choose lowercase and accent handling, optionally set a max length or remove common words, then copy the slug. The result is editable — click it, type your own version, and it will not be overwritten. Paste already-used slugs to get -2, -3 variation suggestions.
How to use it (bulk): switch to the Bulk tab, paste one title per line, then copy all slugs at once or download them as a CSV file for spreadsheets and CMS imports.
Options explained: hyphens are recommended for URLs; Force lowercase keeps slugs consistent; Latin letters transliterates accents (é → e) while Keep other scripts preserves them (beta); Remove common words drops words like a/the/and (off by default, can change meaning); Preferred max length trims at a word boundary. Copy settings link shares your options only — titles are never put in the URL.

Is the slug generator free?
Yes. It is free with no signup, no account and no usage limits, for single titles and bulk lists alike.
Is my text uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. Slug generation happens entirely in your browser. Nothing you type leaves your device, and nothing is sent to a server or stored in the CMS.
What characters are removed from a slug?
Text is lowercased (unless disabled), spaces become your chosen separator, accents are transliterated, symbols are mapped or removed, and anything unsafe for URLs is stripped.
Should I use hyphens or underscores?
Hyphens are recommended: search engines treat hyphens as word separators, while underscores join words together. This tool defaults to hyphens.
Does it guarantee a unique slug?
No. The -2, -3 variation suggestion only avoids the list of already-used slugs you paste in. Always check uniqueness in your own CMS or website before publishing.
How does the max length option work?
It trims the slug at a word boundary so words are never cut in half. Leave it empty for no length limit.
Does it support non-English titles?
Yes. Latin letters mode transliterates accented characters to ASCII; Keep other scripts preserves Unicode letters (beta) for languages that need them.
How do bulk mode and CSV download work?
Paste one title per line and each line becomes its own slug with the same options applied. Copy all slugs with one click or download a title,slug CSV for imports.
What does the settings link share?
Only your chosen options (separator, lowercase, accents, length, stop words). Your titles are never included in the link.
