Challenge
The Challenge
Create a simple digital dice experience that feels engaging, supports spoken results, and remains usable without an internet connection.
The technical challenge was to bring together 3D rendering, physics, multilingual voice output, and native advertising integrations while keeping everyday interaction straightforward. Advertising also needed to be managed remotely without making gameplay dependent on a backend.
Solution Delivered
The Solution
Built an Expo and React Native application with physically simulated dice, tap-to-roll interaction, and a swipe-down options menu.
Users can choose one or two dice, enable multilingual voice readout, and hear either the total or individual results. Sound, haptics, and reduced-motion support provide further control over the experience.
A companion React web console manages advertising configuration, including provider selection for individual placements. The app retrieves remote configuration, falls back to its cached settings when necessary, and includes a bundled fallback so dice rolling remains available offline.
The project uses a shared TypeScript package for roll logic, voice-readout utilities, and advertising configuration definitions.
Outcome
The Outcome
Delivered a dice application that combines visual interaction with spoken feedback and offline functionality.
The architecture separates gameplay from advertising configuration, allowing advertising settings to change remotely while keeping core dice rolling available when connectivity is unavailable.
A shared codebase and modular project structure provide a foundation for maintaining the customer app, extending its features, and managing the companion admin console.
A 3D dice roller bringing together multilingual spoken results, offline gameplay, and remotely managed advertising.
Key Features
- Physically simulated 3D dice: Tap to roll one or two dice.
- Multilingual spoken results: Hear the total or each die individually.
- Offline dice rolling: Continue playing without an internet connection.
- Swipe-down options: Access gameplay and voice settings from a compact menu.
- Sound and haptics: Customize feedback during play.
- Reduced-motion support: Adapt the visual experience.
